Another Uncle has left us
Uncle Clarence passed away January 12th. What a great man he was and what a posterity he leaves behind! His funeral was in Belfry, January 17th and attended by a multitude of family and friends. He will be missed. As a young man growing up in the Belfry Branch I have fond memories of attending church with him and especially priesthood meeting. One scripture stands out in my mind that he often quoted in our priesthood lessons is from the Doctrine & Covenants 50:24 "That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day." I believe he is on his way to that "perfect day".

Logan Temple, June 1, 2010
Tuesday, June 1, 2010 was Grandpa & Grandma Jackson's 100th wedding anniversary. Verla & I drove to Logan with Uncle Dean and Aunt Alice, Aunt Hope, and Aunt Carrol for a session in the temple in honor of this day. Rilla & John Hawkins drove separately and joined us in the session as well as Uncle Ned and Aunt Ruth. Carrolee Howell and Lanise Thompson arrived early for a morning session and joined us for lunch in the cafeteria.
The top two photos were taken at the temple after the session. The bottom photo was inside our van on the way to the temple. My, oh my, you should have heard those 3 Jackson girls in the back just talking, laughing, and carrying on! It was a treat.

100th Wedding Anniversary
What was happening in the World in the Spring of 1910?
On May 6th George V became King of England upon the death of his father Edward VII.
On May 18th the earth passed through the tail of Halley's Comet.
On June 1st Robert Falcon Scott's expedition left England bound for the South Pole.
On June 1st Victor Orin Jackson and Ada Estella Rex were married for all eternity in the Logan temple!
In honor of their 100th wedding anniversary, we encourage all of their decendants to go to the temple and celebrate their marriage and all they have given us.
